How Do I Listen to Podcasts on My Ipad?
Podcasts are audio broadcasts that come out periodically, covering a wide variety of topics and available across various platforms. Listeners can access podcasts from their phone or tablet apps or websites such as YouTube and Spotify; download episodes for offline listening later and skip ads when busy or travelling!
Most podcast listening takes place through smartphone-based listening apps designed for podcast listening. These apps automatically delete episodes once they’re played, making it easy to find and stream episodes from series without searching or opening files separately. While using dedicated podcast listening apps can save data and battery, it requires having access to a strong internet connection for streaming purposes.
Apple iOS 17’s update to the Podcasts app brought with it major revisions, including a revamped Now Playing screen which displays show page art or episode chapter images across its entirety and back, forward, and pause controls. While its new look is pleasant enough, certain of its features remain confusing or unnecessary.
Search podcasts by genre or topic and tap an episode to begin playing it. The Podcasts app remembers where you left off listening, if it’s downloaded it’ll also be available for offline listening and you can use playback controls to adjust volume or skip forward/back 10 second increments; additionally set a sleep timer so playback stops after a set amount of time has elapsed.
If you want to create your own podcast, the Apple Garageband app makes it simple for recording, editing, and mixing audio. Plus, you can easily add intro music and your ad roll – then publish on iTunes or other platforms!

How Do I Subscribe to a Podcast?
Podcasts are audio shows you can subscribe to that will automatically download new episodes as they become available, and listen to at your leisure – either online or off. Most podcasts are free; however, certain channels offer subscription options for additional content or ad-free listening experiences.
To listen to a podcast, either tap the player at the bottom of the Now Playing screen or open up the Podcasts app and search or browse. When you find one you like, tap its cover artwork to open its details page with episode lists, creator information and host bios; there is also a share button (a cloud with an arrow) that lets you send links via email, Twitter Messages or other apps; plus an auto sleep timer button which stops playback after an agreed upon period of time has elapsed.
Once you find an episode you want to listen to, either tap it to start listening immediately, or use the download icon (a purple circle with three white dots) for offline listening. To further manage an episode – such as skipping forward and backward; setting a sleep timer; and turning on automatic downloads – tap More (a purple circle with three white dots).
Podcasts you’ve already downloaded will appear in the Library tab of the Podcasts app, while any new episodes that have been streamed or downloaded can be found under “Listen Now” header. To quickly view available episodes for streaming or downloading click “Icon of Download” for any podcast in Library.
If you’re dissatisfied with your current podcast selection or simply looking to explore something different, use the Browse tab of the Podcasts app to explore a wide array of choices. Alternatively, use the search bar at the top to locate any specific podcast, episode, or host that you may need.
Apple Podcasts app is the go-to solution, offering iPhone, iPad, desktop and Apple Watch versions. Best of all? It is completely free and syncs its settings across devices seamlessly.

How Do I Download a Podcast?
When listening to podcasts while traveling, downloading an episode directly through the Podcasts app can be convenient for saving data or when there is no cell coverage. Simply tap either the cover art of your show or the purple “SUBSCRIBE” button, and it will then start downloading episodes automatically.
Once an episode has been downloaded, it will appear in your Library under “Downloaded.” If you no longer wish to keep a podcast in the Library, simply delete it or export your playlist from the Podcasts app to iTunes by tapping the ellipsis button, choosing Export Playlist and opting for OPML format – iTunes then allows you to import this OPML file back into its store so you can download them back onto your phone or iPad.
The Podcasts app offers several features designed to improve your listening experience. First off, you can adjust the playback speed for easier ear strain. Furthermore, use this app to find similar shows to what you are currently listening to.
One useful feature of Podcasts app is being able to pause an episode while it plays. This can come in handy if you’re multitasking while listening. Furthermore, podcast creators can also utilize this application to create and publish their shows.
Podcasts are an invaluable way to stay informed, learn new skills, and build meaningful relationships across borders. Given all their advantages, it’s no wonder so many forward-thinking websites and blogs have already adopted podcasts into their content strategies.
Podcasts provide many benefits; however, there are some drawbacks as well. One major downside of listening to a lot of podcasts can be filling up your iPhone or iPad’s storage. Apple recognized this issue and introduced features for its Podcasts app in iOS 15.5 that limit automatic downloads based on specific criteria.

How Do I Share a Podcast?
Podcasts can be an incredible way to spread ideas and information with loved ones. However, if you want to share one of your favorite episodes but can’t be physically present for it all the time, simply share its link – they can listen instantly using any podcast app!
iTunes or other media player apps offer another method for sharing podcasts. While the process can be slightly more involved, it remains straightforward: just open up the podcast app on either iPhone or iPad and tap either episodes menu (iPhone) or three dot button (iPad), select “Share Episode”, and send via email or SMS link directly to friends and family.
Once you’ve downloaded an abundance of podcasts onto your device, syncing them with iTunes can be helpful in keeping up with the most up-to-date episodes even when Wi-Fi or cellular data connections are inactive. To sync podcasts using iTunes, connect your iPhone or iPad; click the Device icon in the top left corner; dropdown menu > Sync Podcasts, then choose all or just specific podcasts as they will transfer over.
If you need assistance in synching up a podcast, Apple offers helpful guidance at their website. Remember that podcasts will not automatically download to your device; manual updates must be performed manually to keep up-to-date. If any downloaded episodes don’t live up to expectations, or are of subpar quality altogether, check back with them or the Apple site for ways they may enhance your listening experience.
Apple Podcasts Connect provides another great option for synchronizing podcasts: it’s free and offers many of the same great features found in other management software, plus upload and distribution to other directories, helping increase audience reach. If you have a substantial amount of time invested in creating and editing your podcast, Apple Podcasts Connect may be ideal!
