By Tom Seest

Can You Listen to Podcasts In Airplane Mode?

At PodcastBig, we help new podcasters develop strategies to create content, traffic, and revenue from podcasts based on our experiences and experimentation.

Streaming music during long plane flights can be an enjoyable way to pass the time, but beware: airplane mode disables most wireless communication features on phones such as Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.
Spotify Premium subscribers have an advantage: they can listen to music offline while on an airplane trip – something which is simple and quick.

Can You Stream Podcasts Offline on Spotify?

Podcasts are an engaging way to both learn and stay entertained while traveling. These can either be downloaded onto your mobile device, or streamed directly from their provider’s website – but streaming requires an internet connection which could exceed your data allowance quickly. In order to save data usage while traveling, it may be beneficial to download your favorite podcast before leaving home, so that when traveling without network coverage you can still listen without interruptions from an audio & visual podcast provider.
Airplane mode temporarily turns off all wireless communication functions on your phone, including both cellular and wifi services, making texting and emailing impossible. Most modern phones allow you to temporarily turn back on specific features after turning the airplane mode off, such as Bluetooth – this feature may come in handy for using headphones/earbuds while in flight or switching wifi on on planes that support it.
Tidal and Apple Music both offer this feature; in addition, apps allow you to create playlists of songs or podcasts and then listen on the go.
Though it is possible to stream audio podcasts in airplane mode, be mindful that this requires bandwidth usage and will drain your battery faster. Furthermore, opening video streaming apps while in airplane mode will consume additional power consumption which can further decrease battery life.
As well, be mindful that using airplane mode means losing access to GPS capabilities on your phone; though this may be inconvenient, this safety measure helps avoid potentially hazardous situations. Furthermore, camera or microphone functions may not work during this mode.
Noting the above points, keep in mind that the iPhone clock will not function while in airplane mode as it requires a network connection to sync up with the time server and sync your clock prior to flying. Therefore, make sure to set your clock before your departure date!

Can Podcasts Still Play Offline?

Audio podcast apps that let listeners download episodes for offline listening are an ideal way to pass the time during long flights and can even help teach new skills, like coding or improving health, on the move. Many people also utilize them as educational tools when traveling or trying something new – whether that be learning how to code, learning a foreign language, or improving health while on the move.
Podcast streaming from websites or using apps such as Spotify will not function in airplane mode because these require network connections to stream the content. Airplane mode effectively disables all cellular, WiFi and Bluetooth connections so the device cannot transmit or receive data; however, modern phones have features which enable wifi connection even during airplane mode, and many airlines provide complimentary wi-fi during flights.
Podcasts are audio files that act like radio “shows.” Each episode, typically 15-20 minutes in length and with its own distinct theme such as fantasy football, politics or political scandal. Some podcasts even include multiple hosts with guest interviews. Listeners can access free podcasts on any mobile device they own.
Airplane mode was devised when airlines discovered that cellphones were interfering with their systems by transmitting radio frequency signals, causing navigational instruments on aircraft to malfunction and cause other aircraft systems to go offline. Airplane mode allows you to turn off all wireless signals – such as streaming podcasts – so as not to interfere with interference of an aircraft system.
Downloading podcasts for airplane mode is essential as the only way to access them without using network or internet access. Many smartphones and tablets feature apps capable of downloading music videos and other content for offline playback; the process may not always be intuitive, though; therefore, it is wise to refer back to instructions provided by the app’s creator when downloading content for airplane mode playback.
Before engaging airplane mode, be sure to ensure you have enough storage space on your phone or tablet for podcasts and media you want to download. Furthermore, ensure you have an uninterrupted network connection – this process may take time depending on how much content there is; once completed, turn off airplane mode and enjoy listening to your shows!

Are You Missing Out on Offline Podcast Listening?

Podcasts can provide an entertaining or educational way to pass time on long flights. As these audio tracks tend to be shorter than music tracks and play without headphones, they make for easy pause-able listening – perfect for frequent fliers!
However, streaming podcasts requires an internet connection; to listen offline you will require either a free or paid app that allows you to download episodes – such as Apple’s built-in Podcasts app, Spotify and iHeartRadio are popular options; plus many more can be found on Google Play Store.
These apps allow you to download audio podcasts for offline listening in airplane mode. Some offer a wide selection of podcasts while others only carry recent episodes; to find what you want quickly, search using name or keyword in the search bar of each app; when you find something you like tapping on three-dot menu button and select “Download,” which will save it onto your device and keep listening offline!
Not surprisingly, downloaded podcast episodes take up space on your device, so before embarking on any long trips it would be wise to free up some space by deleting unwanted podcast episodes and/or ensure there’s enough storage available to download all your desired shows.
If you want to listen to music while flying, first enable Airplane Mode on your phone. This feature deactivates Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connections so you can use your phone for other activities like playing games or watching videos without the risk of connecting to networks while in airplane mode.
Spotify is an internet music streaming service that works great when traveling on airplane mode. Premium accounts can download songs and playlists for offline listening; free users can use Tunelf Spotibeat Music Converter to save their Spotify songs for later listening when traveling abroad or when offline. Tunelf Spotibeat Music Converter provides an easy and straightforward solution that lets them enjoy their Spotify songs even when away.

Can You Stay Connected in Flight Mode?

Airplane mode on your mobile device disables radio signals, WiFi and Bluetooth connections so that phone calls, text/WhatsApp messages and web browsing cannot be made or received; however music, videos and games that do not require an Internet or signal connection may still be accessible.
Listening to podcasts while using your smartphone or tablet in airplane mode remains possible, provided you download episodes before enabling airplane mode. Just ensure your device has enough free storage space available before enabling airplane mode.
Airplane mode offers another advantage by disconnecting your device from the internet, enabling apps to load faster and preserve battery life while at the same time saving battery life. Some apps may still require internet access in order to display advertisements; this is particularly relevant when it comes to mobile games that use ads as a monetization strategy.
Airplane mode can be an excellent way to mute distracting notifications, but be wary of setting unreasonable expectations as to the amount of time you want to devote to using your device during airplane mode. Also be mindful that extended use could have detrimental effects on battery life.
Spotify Premium accounts allow you to enjoy podcasts while traveling as they are stored offline and accessible offline. All downloaded episodes can be found under “Downloaded Episodes” in your Library; to free up space, delete any unintentionally downloaded episodes that you do not plan on revisiting anytime soon.
Although airplane mode was originally created for use on plane flights, it can also be useful in many other settings. Use it to limit distractions and focus your energy when working, studying or exercising; use it as a way to disengage from social media accounts for a short while if you need a break!
