Podcasts are audio files available for downloading or streaming over the Internet. Each podcast may range in duration from 15 minutes up to one hour in length.
Your podcast on Spotify must be “Podsafe,” meaning it does not include copyrighted music or other audio content that would violate license agreements. Your hosting provider dashboard provides this tool.

How Can You Grow Your Audience?

Spotify is an ideal way for podcasters to reach a large audience, being the number one podcast platform with millions of active users and the leading podcast platform worldwide. By applying a few adjustments and working hard, your podcast can soon be available on Spotify and start building its following.
Start by creating a podcast hosting provider. There are various options to consider, but we recommend Buzzsprout’s $ 12-a-month plan which gives you unlimited storage and multiple features like uploading episodes simultaneously.
Once you’ve created an account, it’s time to launch your podcast. Start by giving your show an official name and filling out its description. Include details about its content – for instance what topics it covers or its duration.
Upload episodes to your podcast hosting service, which will then make them available for download via all major podcast directories like Spotify.
When ready, go to Spotify’s podcast submission page and follow its instructions. On this page, enter a URL for your podcast’s RSS feed – typically provided by its host – which includes all episode metadata necessary for submission to Spotify.
Your podcast needs to be “podsafe.” This means it should not contain any music with copywritten rights that is protected under music licensing agreements such as Spotify; they do not permit hosting podcasts containing such material.

Spotify takes podcasting seriously and is committed to helping listeners find your show. They offer regular playlists and directories as well as original content production; integrations with home speakers and mobile apps make for even greater reach – so make sure you list your show on Spotify if you want people to find it!
To submit your podcast, create or sign up for a Spotify account (if necessary). On the podcast submission website, paste in your RSS feed link and provide information about your podcast such as its title, cover art and description; as well as its country of origin, language of preference and category options (these could help introduce it to new listeners). These options could help promote it effectively!
Once you’ve completed all the required information, click “Next.” Spotify will verify that you own the podcast and send an email containing a code which must be entered in order to continue on their submission website.
Your podcast must conform to ISO/IEC 11172-3 MPEG-1 Part 3 (MP3) audio standards with a bitrate between 96 and 320kbps and feature only music or voice content. If you’re having difficulty uploading to Spotify, use one of several hosting services with direct integration – Blubrry Podcasting, Podbean, and Simplecast all offer this feature, with 14-day trials of each available (Podbean offers it here, for example). Transistor also offers this solution with 14-day trials available for new customers – check them out as they also offer 14-day trials on new customers as well.

As a podcaster, you may use music and sound bytes in your audio stories to keep listeners engaged with what they hear. While this can make the listening experience more engaging for listeners, it’s also important to understand copyright laws so you know which elements you can legally include or exclude in your podcasts.
No matter where your podcast resides, the first step to listing on Spotify is the same as with any directory: submit your RSS feed. When submitted successfully, an approval message should appear and an 8-digit code will be emailed directly to you; enter this in the field provided on Spotify before selecting Next. Next, you must choose your country, language, and hostname using dropdown menus before choosing up to three subcategories that can help Spotify users discover your podcast.
As part of your podcast creation process, you’ll also need a description and cover art. Your description should include episode titles with brief summaries as well as links to where episodes can be found (usually your hosting service’s website). Furthermore, make sure that your podcast is “podsafe” by checking for copyrighted music or any material that would cause Spotify to block or remove it from their directory – this process should only take hours, but for optimal results, wait longer before checking back with Spotify to see when they have approved your content creation!

When Will Your Podcast be Available on Spotify?

Once your podcast has an RSS feed and episodes uploaded, the next step is submitting it to Spotify. This can be done either through your hosting provider or using Anchor, part of the Spotify for Podcasters directory. Once submitted, Spotify will review your information before making a decision whether to approve or deny it; typically, it takes just hours after submission before going live on their platform and making it accessible to listeners.
First, it’s necessary to verify your ownership of podcast content. Spotify will send an 8-digit code by email directly linked to the RSS feed for your podcast hosting service (usually this email address is used). After verifying ownership, click Next and Spotify will ask you to select primary and up to three subcategories that best describe your podcast; these help match it with relevant listeners. Finally, provide a short description and specify the language/country.
Once approved, your podcast will appear on both Spotify’s app and website for easy sharing among listeners and expanding its audience.
Like any directory, Spotify requires that podcasters abide by certain regulations when publishing podcasts on the platform. For example, only use music licensed to you that isn’t copyrighted elsewhere to protect listeners and keep the platform legal. Also important is releasing new episodes regularly as this increases your chance of being listed on Discover page where most listeners find new podcasts to listen to.

How to Boost Podcast Visibility on Spotify with Simple Tips?

Doing a podcast show that meets Spotify’s guidelines can be one of the best ways to reach new listeners and expand your fan base. In order to do this, create content that adheres to them – this includes producing well-produced episodes with clear audio and engaging topics as well as maintaining strong social media accounts and keeping your website current. However, for optimal results use their new Editorial Submission Form instead!
On the submission page, you will need to provide details about your podcast such as its title, description and cover art. In addition, an RSS feed must also be entered – usually provided by hosting services and accessible from within your dashboard – which allows Spotify to find and download episodes from your podcast. Once verified as owner by Spotify via an email with code associated with an RSS feed URL address associated with an episode’s RSS feed address; submission can continue from there.
Once your podcast has been submitted to Spotify for consideration, they will review it to assess if it fits their platform and contact you if any additional questions or requirements need to be fulfilled. They may ask you to select three primary and subcategories that best describe it so they can organize and promote it to users more efficiently.
Once approved, your podcast will be listed in Spotify’s directory and available to be downloaded and listened to on any device. You can share it through their app and social media platforms – you’re even able to generate a scannable code to use on websites, flyers and business cards!
